The Philadelphia Eagles trade for running back Lorenzo Booker provides the organization with the ability to be more creative on offense in 2008, according to the Trenton Times. "He's somebody we really liked in the draft last year, but we couldn't pull it off where we were able to get him," head coach Andy Reid said of Booker, whose presence will allow Westbrook to line up more in the slot. "I think he and Brian on the field will be a nice combination for our offense."

New Miami coach Tony Sparano appears to like what he seems from running back Lorenzo Booker, telling the Palm Beach Post that Booker is "a guy that when you watch, he jumps off the film a little bit. He's interesting in that he's a guy that you've got to get touches for. You've got to find a way to get Lorenzo the ball. I think there's a role... He's going to be out there." Booker didn't see the field much in his rookie season, and with Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams still around, it doesn't seem like he would be in line for much playing time in his second year, either. Booker has some talent, though, so perhaps he can force his way onto the field.

Rookie running back Lorenzo Booker figures to be given a chance to make an immediate impact now that Ricky Williams is out of the equation in Miami. “I’d be lying if I said I didn’t anticipate getting more carries because of [Williams’ absence],” Booker told the Miami Herald. “At the same time, I was looking forward to learning from him… But obviously, I’m excited about having the opportunity to get more touches early.” Booker figures to see immediate action as Ronnie Brown's top backup and in a change-of-pace role.
