With the Colts and Redskins set to kick off this year's preseason schedule tonight, the world of the football fan seems likely to focus on several top rookies hoping to find employment on these NFL rosters, including Washington passer Colt Brennan , according to the Washington Post. The move by the NFL in limiting training camp rosters to 80 players this summer has created a situation that fails to allow as much opportunity to these young hopefuls as in season's past, and thus these early games carry heavy implications for those riding the bubble of potential NFL employment. As a result, the Post reports Brennan is going to get a good, strong look this evening as he attempts to gain favor from new coach Jim Zorn.

Colt Brennan’s hip injury isn’t as serious as the media has portrayed it to be, according to DraftHeadquarters.com. Brennan has stated that it’s a minor surgery, and he’ll be ready to start rehab two weeks after the surgery. He expects to be 100 percent in July. Regardless, the timing of the injury couldn’t be worse. It likely drops him from the middle into the later rounds of the NFL Draft.

Colt Brennan, Hawaii's record-setting quarterback, will undergo hip surgery on April 7 to repair a torn labral in his right hip and will be sidelined eight to 12 weeks, according to SI.com. The announcement was made to NFL scouts at Hawaii's pro-day workout Tuesday at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif., and means Brennan will drop from a projected middle round draft pick to a very late round pick.
