The Rams released Moe Williams in the final round of cuts on Saturday, according to the AP. Wiliams became expendable after the Rams signed free agent Stephen Davis as the primary backup for Steve Jackson on Friday.

The Rams have signed Moe Williams to a one-year deal, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Williams played in just five games last year for Minnesota before having to undergo knee surgery in November, but he is expected to be healthy by the start of the season. Williams will provide depth at running back for the Rams, who will be without Marshall Faulk this season.

The agent for Moe Williams said his client may still play again, according to the Pioneer Press. "It's not clear that he's retiring," agent Ethan Lock said. "That's not accurate at all." The 31-year-old unrestricted free agent is recovering from microfracture surgery on his right knee.

Moe Williams was found guilty Thursday of disorderly conduct during a raunchy team boat party last fall, according to the Contra Costa Times. He was fined $300 and ordered to complete 30 hours of community service that benefits women or children.
