"His spirits are good," head coach Wade Phillips tells the Dallas Morning News. "He's rehabbing his quad; they are building that up. Once you have a knee operation, you need the quad to go down, so they're building that up." Glenn underwent right knee surgery on September 13 to have loose cartilage removed from behind his kneecap. He has not yet started to run. Patrick Crayton is starting in his place.

"He's very ambitiously and aggressively doing everything he can rehabbing and he fully expects to play," owner Jerry Jones tells the team's official web site. Terry Glenn will try to play again this season. The veteran underwent right knee surgery on Thursday and opted against the microfracture operation, the Dallas Morning News reports. Terry Glenn has some major decisions to make regarding his injured knee. Working his way back from Aug. 1 surgery on his right knee, Glenn suffered a new injury to the joint in practice on Wednesday. Glenn may have an arthroscopic procedure done, from which he could return in a few weeks, according to the Dallas Morning News. However, that surgery might not fix the cartilage issue in his knee. Microfracture surgery may be the answer, but that would cost him the entire season for sure. At this point, consider him out indefinitely and pick up his replacement, Patrick Crayton, who could excel as the Cowboys' No. 2 WR.

Agent Jimmy Gould tells the Dallas Morning News that Glenn will seek several opinions before deciding on the next move. Patrick Crayton will start in his place, and Sam Hurd will move up to the No. 3 receiver role.

Terry Glenn is targeting the August 30 preseason game for his only action before the regular campaign. "Even if [coach Wade Phillips] doesn't play me, that's when I want to be able to play in a game," Glenn tells the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. "Just so I can get my feet and my legs going in a game a little bit. So in the Sunday night game [the season opener Sept. 9 against the New York Giants] I have something under me."
