Amani Toomer wants to continue playing football according to a report in Newsday. "I haven't thought about retiring at all," he said. "There are still some things I want to accomplish." Toomer, who will be 34-years-old in September, put up solid numbers during the regular season (59 receptions, 760 yards) while he gained the implicit trust of Eli Manning. He is still a solid hands receiver, and he should be able to have another productive season or two in a support role.

Amani Toomer will play in Sunday's preseason game against the Ravens, head coach Tom Coughlin tells the team's official web site. Toomer didn't play in the preseason opener on August 11 and has been practicing once per day throughout camp. He tore the ACL in his left knee on November 6.

Giants coach Tom Coughlin said he plans to hold Amani Toomer out of their first preseason game this weekend. "I really don't know how to take it because, in a sense, I am trying to get ready for the season," Toomer told the AP. "I thought I would play in the preseason games and get my reps in and knock off some of the rust." The veteran is recovering from a torn ACL that ended last season in November, and the Giants want to make sure he's ready for the start of the season.
