The Giants activated Michael Strahan on Saturday, and he will likely play against Dallas on Sunday, according to the AP. Strahan reported to the team on Monday and practiced this week after sitting out training camp and all four preseason games. Cornerback Dovonte Edwards was waived to open up a roster spot. Coach Tom Coughlin has declined to say whether Strahan will in fact suit up on Sunday, but there's little reason to think he won't be out on the field come gametime.

The Giants aren't saying yet whether Michael Strahan will play in the regular-season opener on Sunday, after ending his holdout Monday. He took on a larger work load in practice Thursday and said if he continues feeling good, he expects to suit up against the Cowboys, according to the AP. "I feel good," Strahan said after practice. "See how I feel tomorrow. Today, I ran a lot more plays than I ran before, the last two days. If I am going to feel good, I'll be out there." The final call will be made by coach Tom Coughlin, of course, but it's safe to assume Strahan will play. The bigger question should be how much he will play. Stay tuned for updates as the game approaches.

Giants co-owner Steve Tisch paid a visit to Michael Strahan earlier this week. It appears that got the ball rolling on getting Strahan back in uniform soon, according to the New York Daily News. All signs point to Strahan rejoining the Giants next week and being ready for the start of the season. The Giants likely will lessen his total fine for missing all of training camp, but Strahan will have to fork over some cash as a penalty.

Michael Strahan issued a "Letter to the Fans" on Sunday. Strahan says that "given the recent torrent of erroneous media reports and totally inaccurate assumptions, I feel that I have to come forward and publicly set the record straight." As printed in the New York Daily News, the letter notes that Strahan is serious about possible retirement and that money is not a factor in his decision.
