Giants give LT Diehl new contract Newark, NJ (Sports Network) - The New York Giants signed left tackle David
Diehl to a new six-year contract, keeping him with the team through the 2013
season, according to a report from The Newark Star-Ledger on Tuesday.
Diehl was to enter into the third year of a six-year deal this season after
signing a $15.5 million extension in 2005. Diehl previously played
left guard before Luke Petitgout was released prior to the start of last
season.
Team officials have yet to release financial terms of the deal, reportedly

Jeremy Shockey may still end up being moved this off-season but it won't be to the New Orleans Saints, according to North Jersey.com. Its no secret we had some discussions with them and we just couldnt come to a conclusion on the right compensation, Saints GM Mickey Loomis said.
Michael Strahan has reportedly made up his mind whether to return this season or retire, but is not ready to release that decision to the media, according to the NY Daily News. He wants to be 100% sure of the choice he has made. Strahan said, "I think a lot of them want me to retire because theyre always on the radio talking about it. Theyre getting more radio and TV time than I get all of a sudden. No, you know, I think the guys want me to come back. I think we had a great time together. Osi called me out of the blue two days ago and said Do you remember 2005? We had so much fun. It was slightly more fun than last year. I think we can do it again. Hes trying to drop these subtle hints. I was like, Well, we probably could, but I dont know Osi. But there are times I want to and times that I dont." He added, "Ill be honest with you, I pretty much know what Im going to do right now. But you know what the thing is? If I say it, I cant change my mind. So I would rather wait until I know Im 100 percent sure that when I say what Im going to do, Im going to do it. Because if I say Im retired, then Im not going to come back the next day. If Ive graduated from football, I wont come back the same day in the Masters program. And if I say Im going to play again then I know Im committed to playing. So I know what I want to do. I just want to make sure that its 100 percent what I want to do, because either way its a heck of a commitment."
