Michael Strahan, DE Thursday 5/15, 8:05 AM CT
Michael Strahan has reportedly made up his mind whether to return this season or retire, but is not ready to release that decision to the media, according to the NY Daily News. He wants to be 100% sure of the choice he has made. Strahan said, "I think a lot of them want me to retire because they’re always on the radio talking about it. They’re getting more radio and TV time than I get all of a sudden. No, you know, I think the guys want me to come back. I think we had a great time together. Osi called me out of the blue two days ago and said ‘Do you remember 2005? We had so much fun. It was slightly more fun than last year. I think we can do it again. He’s trying to drop these subtle hints. I was like, ‘Well, we probably could, but I don’t know Osi.’ But there are times I want to and times that I don’t." He added, "I’ll be honest with you, I pretty much know what I’m going to do right now. But you know what the thing is? If I say it, I can’t change my mind. So I would rather wait until I know I’m 100 percent sure that when I say what I’m going to do, I’m going to do it. Because if I say I’m retired, then I’m not going to come back the next day. If I’ve graduated from football, I won’t come back the same day in the Masters’ program. And if I say I’m going to play again then I know I’m committed to playing. So I know what I want to do. I just want to make sure that its 100 percent what I want to do, because either way it’s a heck of a commitment."

Jeremy Shockey, TE Sunday 5/11, 10:35 AM CT
Offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride is the latest person to weigh in on the Jeremy Shockey situation. The two talked recently. "It’s so nebulous right now, you just have no idea what’s going to happen," Gilbride tells the New York Daily News. "Right now he’s on our team. We’re planning on him being there. He’ll be one of the guys that we’ll look to feature and one of the guys that we’ll look to depend on." Gilbride refused to pass along what Shockey said about the situation.

Mario Manningham, WR Saturday 5/10, 1:00 PM CT
Rookie wide receiver Mario Manningham (Michigan) injured himself while running a deep hook route in rookie minicamp, and suffered a hip flexor injury, according to the Star Ledger. Coach Tom Coughlin said, "It's unfortunate, but hopefully it is a good lesson for these guys. The twisting, the turning, the stopping and the starting, that's what this game is about. You do have to have cardiovascular conditioning, but you do have to also work on the short bursts and change of directions and all those kinds of things so that you don't have injuries."
Jeremy Shockey, TE Friday 5/9, 10:16 AM CT
Newsday NFL writer Bob Glauber reported on ESPN this morning that the only way the New York Giants would trade tight end Jeremy Shockey is if they received an offer that “knocked their socks off”.
Michael Strahan, DE Friday 5/9, 10:10 AM CT
Newsday NFL writer Bob Glauber reported on ESPN this morning that defensive lineman Michael Strahan is leaning towards retirement. But the 15-year veteran could be coaxed into playing if the New York Giants gave him a $3 million raise, or the equivalent of $7 million for the 2008 season.
Michael Strahan, DE Wednesday 5/7, 9:58 AM CT
Seven-time Pro Bowl defensive end Michael Strahan has a good idea whether he wants to play a 16th NFL season, but wants to think it over before announcing his decision, according to NFL.com. "Right now I know where I'm leaning, but I don't want to say it until I'm sure," Strahan said Tuesday in an interview on FOX News Channel. "Once you either say you're gonna play or not gonna play, you can't go back, at least in my opinion," Strahan added. "That feeling of knowing that I want to do it, I have to decide if I have that feeling."
Michael Strahan, DE Tuesday 5/6, 3:24 PM CT
Linebacker Antonio Pierce said he believes New York Giants’ teammate Michael Strahan has played his last snap in the NFL, according to the New York Post. "My inside tells me that Strahan played his last game with the New York Giants as a champion and that's not a bad way to go out," Pierce said when asked on WFAN about Strahan coming back this season.
David Diehl, T Tuesday 5/6, 3:19 PM CT
Replacing Luke Petitgout as the New York Giants left tackle, David Diehl proved he was the real deal and helped the team win Super Bowl XLII. Diehl's reward is a new deal that compensates him for the importance of protecting Eli Manning's blindside. The Giants recently ripped up the former left guard's old contract and rewarded him with a new six-year, $31 million contract, according to ESPN. The key to the deal is annual escalator clauses that increase Diehl's salaries between $750,000 and $1.1 million a year as long as he plays offensive tackle.
Jeremy Shockey, TE Monday 5/5, 8:47 AM CT
League sources indicate the New Orleans Saints' pursuit of New York tight end Jeremy Shockey did not end when a draft-day deal between the clubs could not be reached, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune. Jeremy Shockey did not attend the Giants' visit to the White House on Wednesday, according to the Newark Star Ledger. Michael Strahan and Osi Umenyiora also were not in attendance.
