Raiders release S Wilson Alameda, CA (Sports Network) - The Oakland Raiders released safety
Gibril Wilson on Friday, a year after signing him to a lucrative contract.
Wilson signed a six-year contract in late February 2008, worth up to $39
million. But after a 2008 season in which the 27-year-old safety played in all
16 games, posting two interceptions, 1 1/2 sacks and a career-high 128
tackles, Wilson was cut.
The move comes a day after the Raiders made two big signings. Oakland inked

Bruce Gradkowski has been named the Raiders' starting quarterback for Week 11 against Cincinnati, according to David White's (San Francisco Chronicle) twitter page.
