Joe Thornton came through for San Jose in a big way during their 3-2 overtime win in Game 5 on Saturday. The center was involved in each goal as he scored the first on a power play and assisted on the other two.

Joe Thornton and his Sharks mates sit on the verge of yet another playoff disappointment as the take on the Ducks on Saturday night trailing the Ducks three games to one in their first round matchup, according to the San Jose Mercury News. "I think our character was questioned..." Sharks HC Todd McLellan said. "...we'll see how we respond back in San Jose."

Joe Thornton assisted on both goals as the Sharks defeated Flames 2-1 on Monday. He finished the game with a plus-1 rating and two more penalty minutes.
