Marc Savard will be one of about 100 NHL skaters who will test the Thermablade Elite II skate blade in the coming weeks, according to the Boston Globe. Why is that noteworthy? Why because the blades will be heated to 41 degrees to hopefully reduce friction and vibration.

Marc Savard notched an assist and an overtime goal in a 2-1 win over Montreal on Sunday, and his heroics earned him Third Star honors for the night, according to NHL.com. Boston now trails 2-1 in the series, and the win notably snapped a 13-game losing streak against Montreal.
