"I think we need to give him some breathing room right now to see if the change is going to affect him positively or negatively," McLellan said. "I think he's excited about a fresh start and we have to let that evolve a little bit."

The Sharks are attempting to trade Patrick Marleau to the Blue Jackets prior to July 1, the Ottawa Sun notes. The club wants to receive the Blue Jackets' No. 6 overall draft pick in return. Marleau has a two-year, $12.6 million that kicks in on July 1.

Ron Wilson is now the head coach of the Toronto Blue Jays, and though he had his differences with Patrick Marleau while in San Jose, he has nothing but kind words for his former captain, according to the San Jose Mercury News. "I would love to coach Patty Marleau again. We had our differences, but I've had differences with just about every player I've coached along the way," Wilson said. "Patty is a great player and he's going to continue to improve and he's going to be a great leader in San Jose."

Patrick Marleau was beaten up in Game 3 for the Sharks as he took two big hits that led to a cut over his eye and a bloody nose, this according to the San Jose Mercury News. The Sharks were not happy with either hit, especially the second one. "I clearly thought it was an elbow right in the face," HC Ron Wilson said. "I was kind of surprised we ended up on the short end of the stick."

Patrick Marleau will skate on the Sharks second line with Joe Pavelski and recently returned Ryan Clowe, this according to the team's Official Website. Marleau has actually been playing LW with Pavelski at C, and the duo has been magical over the last month. Adding the rugged Clowe, recently back in the lineup after missing most of the year with knee surgery, could make this a formidable line.

Marleau may have only 13 goals and 35 points on the year, a terribly disappointing season to date, but he has certainly picked up his play of late with three goals and three assists in his last five games for the surging Sharks.

Patrick Marleau, who has missed the team's last three games, was placed on injured reserve Monday, according to TSN.ca. Marleau has been suffering from a groin injury. The 28-year-old center has 10 goals and 18 assists in 55 games this season.

Patrick Marleau missed his third straight game due to an injured groin, but he is traveling with the team and did take part in the team's gameday skate around signaling that a return to the lineup is close. Marleau has been awful this year with only 10 goals and 28 points in 55 games, so hopefully his time off will allow him to clear his head and return with the old fire that he used to average 33 goals and 82 points the past two seasons.

Patrick Marleau injured his groin in the first period of the Sharks game on Saturday night and he did not return in the victory. No word yet on the severity of injury, but rest assured we will be on top of it to find out the prognosis of the Sharks captain. NHL.com
