Phoenix's lone score in the 4-1 loss to Calgary came when Derek Morris drilled a slap shot past Flames goalie Miikka Kiprusoff for a power-play goal at 6:51. The goal was Morris' fifth of the season.

Derek Morris left Thursdays game with 16:12 remaining after taking a Radim Vrbata shot off his left ankle, according to the AP. Morris, who did not return, missed 23 games with an injury to the same ankle earlier this year.

The Coyotes agreed to terms with Derek Morris on a three-year contract extension, according to the AP. Financial terms were not disclosed. He has two goals and 14 assists in 33 games this season.
