Derek Morris was forced out of Friday's game against Carolina in the second period with an upper-body injury, according to the Associated Press.

Defenseman Derek Morris cut his finger when a linesman stepped on his hand on Wednesday, according to the Arizona Republic. Morris will be in a splint for about six weeks but could be back in the Coyotes lineup as early as Friday.
