The Avalanche head into Game 1 seeking Lord Stanley's Cup, and do so with reasonably good health. Winger Marek Svatos and defenseman Brett Clark are definitely out for this series. The Wild have their own issues, especially on the blueline. Nick Schultz (emergency appendectomy) and Kurtis Foster (fractured femur) are out. Expect veterans Keith Carney and Sean Hill to see a lot of ice time in this series, while No. 1 blueliner Brent Burns may be asked to help shut down the Stastny line.

Brett Clark underwent surgery Wednesday to repair a dislocated shoulder, notes the Denver Post. He suffered the injury Feb. 12 against Anaheim, and has been out since. The team expects him to make a full recovery in time for next season.

The Avalanche will be without Brett Clark for an indefinite period because of a dislocated shoulder, according to the Rocky Mountain News. Clark is a pretty solid offensive defenseman with 21 points in 57 games this season. He's not a fantasy stud by any stretch but held some value in deeper leagues.
