There were rumors circulating that Roberto Luongo was displeased with the Canucks, but that is not the case, according to the Vancouver Sun. Team GM Mike Gillis said, "Luongo is completely devoted to the team, wants to be competitive, wants to be in the playoffs, wants to win, and he made absolutely clear to me that's his focus. The idea that he doesn't want to be here is the furthest thing from being accurate."

Roberto Luongo started the Canucks final regular season game but was pulled after allowing three goals on just nine shots. Luongo's wife has been dealing with a difficult pregnancy and it obviously wore on him as he allowed three or more goals in five of his last seven games. Overall he finishes the year with a 35-29-9 record and will be sitting home with the rest of his mates for the playoffs.

Roberto Luongo is awaiting the birth of his child in South Florida, according to the Palm Beach Post. The Canucks lead Nashville by a mere two points for the eighth and final Western Conference playoff spot, and hope to have Luongo back in action when they play Minnesota on Friday night in St. Paul. According to reports, the team had hired a plane to transport Luongo to that game.
