He finished the night owning the franchise-record shutout streak of 242 minutes, 36 seconds. The Avalanche would eventually win the game in a shootout following the goalie's 33 saves on 34 shots.

Roberto Luongo started the Canucks final regular season game but was pulled after allowing three goals on just nine shots. Luongo's wife has been dealing with a difficult pregnancy and it obviously wore on him as he allowed three or more goals in five of his last seven games. Overall he finishes the year with a 35-29-9 record and will be sitting home with the rest of his mates for the playoffs.

Roberto Luongo is awaiting the birth of his child in South Florida, according to the Palm Beach Post. The Canucks lead Nashville by a mere two points for the eighth and final Western Conference playoff spot, and hope to have Luongo back in action when they play Minnesota on Friday night in St. Paul. According to reports, the team had hired a plane to transport Luongo to that game.

Luongo is back on his game after some recent struggles as he has won 3-straight and five of his last seven games as the Canucks best player.

Roberto Luongo had a simple awful game on Saturday night allowing five goals in just 22 shots in the game for a Canucks team that has won only one of its last six games. Luongo hasn't been awful of late, but he has won just two of his last nine decisions, and that certainly isn't good enough. During that stretch, he has allowed three or more goals six times, an extremely high total for a keeper who entered tonight with a 2.13 GAA.

Canucks netminder Roberto Luongo allowed but one goal on 28 shots helping Vancouver to a 2-1 win at Atlanta on Thursday. It was Luongo's first win in four games and just second in five games. He now has 23 wins in 45 starts this season. Luongo has been as consistent as gasoline prices this year but his upside prevents fantasy owners from benching the talented goalie.
