Scott Nichol returned to the Predators' lineup Thursday after being a healthy scratch Tuesday, according to the Tennessean. He said, "I'm just trying to interject a little energy, play with a little jam. Maybe I veered away from that a little bit. I want to try to help get our penalty kill back on track. That's been our bread and butter in the past. We take a lot of pride in that."

Scott Nichol broke his left thumb in Game 1 against the Red Wings and will now miss the rest of the series due to surgery to fix the break, this according to the AP. Nichol is a gritty, penalty killer type who will be sorely missed in the playoffs, though with a limited offensive game his loss has no bearing on any fantasy pools.
