Kimmo Timonen had a blood clot in his leg at the end of last season, and though it bothered him into the summer, he feels like he will be ready to go once camp starts, according to Philly Blurbs. "It probably will never be back to "normal,' but it's [at a place] where he could say normal."

Kimmo Timonen was dealing with a blood cut in his left leg at the end of the 2007-08 campaign, but is expected to be ready for the start of training camp, according to the Phillyburbs.com. Timonen said, "I saw a doctor a few days ago, and he says it's almost back to normal."

If Kimmo Timonen gets through practice without any issues today, and can deal with numbness and pain in his injured foot, he expects to be in the lineup tomorrow in Pittsburgh for Game 5, according to the Baltimore Sun. The prognosis on the blood clot in his left ankle has improved and Timonen said, " At least now I know there's no danger. It's just a matter of how much pain I can take."

Kimmo Timonen is going to skate on his own today with the hopes of playing as early as Sunday in Pittsburgh, according to the Courier Post. It had been thought that the defenseman was done for the year after doctors discovered a blood clot in his left foot, but it appears the injury isn't as severe as initially thought. Timonen said the decision over whether to return or not now rests with him. "If I feel (today) that I'm good to go for Sunday, then I'm good for Sunday," he said. "There is nothing to prevent me from playing.

Flyers defensmen Kimmo Timonen is close to returning to the ice from a blood clot in his ankle that has kept him out of action, according to the Associated Press. “There is nothing to prevent me from playing. I may have numbness in my toes, but if I can deal with that then I can play. We took another ultrasound, and based on that the doctor said I have a green light to give it a try. The doctor feels that there is no chance the clot is going to get loose or break up or anything like that. It’s a great sign.

The Flyers received some terrible news with the report that offensive defensmen Kimmo Timonen will likely miss the entire Eastern Conference Finals series with the Penguins because of a blood clot in his ankle, according to NHL.com. Jaroslav Modry or Ryan Parent will likely fill in.

With the Philadelphia Flyers finally reversing recent fortunes and picking up a 4-2 win in last night's Eastern Conference semifinal playoff series, Philly defenseman Kimmo Timonen wasted no time in sending a message, and Montreal forward Tom Kostopoulos was more than happy to return the sentiment, according to SLAM Sports. After Flyers center R.J. Umberger scored the fourth and final goal for Philly to clinch the win, Timonen directed his attention to the Canadiens bench, turned his back, and raised his arms. Kostopoulos didn't appreciate the gesture and landed a roundhouse left to Timonen's jaw. "I was upset we were losing," said Kostopoulos. Timonen responded, "I didn't say anything. I raised my hands and I got punched."
