Brent Sopel broke a finger during Wednesday's game. The injury is expected to sideline him for the next week or two, according to the Chicago Tribune. Sopel has contributed 10 assists on the season, but it's time to put him on your bench for now.

Brent Sopel was traded to Vancouver Monday in exchange for a pair of draft picks, TSN.ca reports. Sopel is a solid offensive contributor (23 points in 44 games), but the Canucks already have a healthy stable of scoring defensemen, so he probably won't see time with the first power-play unit.
