With starting goalie Oleg Kolzig out with a knee injury, the Capitals recalled Frederic Cassivi from Hershey of the American Hockey League on Tuesday, according to the AP. Kolzig was injured during practice Monday and will be sidelined at least three weeks. Cassivi will serve as the backup while Kolzig is out.

The Capitals recalled Frederic Cassivi from the AHL. He will replace Daren Machesney on the roster.
