According to the Montreal Gazette, Canadiens' center Scott Gomez missed Wednesday morning's skate due to flu-like symptoms. Gomez is not expected to play in the team's game against the Penguins tonight.

The Toronto Sun is reporting that Canadiens' center Scott Gomez is denying a report that he got into a fight with teammate Sergi Kostitsyn after the team's final preseason game. According to the report, the fight could have been the reason Kostitsyn was sent to the minors.

Scott Gomez has been shipped from the Rangers to the Canadiens in exchange for Chris Higgins, according to the Associated Press. Minor leaguers Tom Pyatt and Mike Busto are also going to Montreal in the deal, with defensemen Ryan McDonagh and Pavel Valentenko heading to New York.
