Glen Metropolit centered a line with Slava Kozlov and Marian Hossa in the opener, but he saw fewer than eight minutes of action Friday, according to the Atlanta Journal-Sentinel. Coach Bob Hartley wasn't happy with Metropolit's play.

The Thrashers signed free agent Glen Metropolit to a contract on Monday, according to the AP. He Lugano to the Swiss National League Championship last season with nine goals and 18 assists in 17 playoff games. During the regular season, Metropolit led the league with 39 assists and 63 points in 44 games.
