Martin Havlat is recovering favorably from his latest shoulder surgery, according to the Chicago Tribune. Coach Denis Savard said, "He'll be here for the convention (July 18-20 at the Hilton Chicago). It would be so good for him to be healthy. He's a game-breaker. He has that ability. But for him to be that game-breaker player he needs to be healthy. If he plays like he can when he's healthy, I'll be a great coach."

March 13, 2008
The news was bad for Martin Havlat and his injured left shoulder on Wednesday. The Chicago winger will have surgery today and miss at least the next four months. This is the third shoulder surgery Havlat has undergone in his NHL career and the problem appears to be chronic. Havlat scored 27 points in 35 games this season, but the 26-year-old seemingly can't stay on ice.

February 29, 2008
Martin Havlat appears to have a serious injury to his left shoulder, according to the Chicago Tribune. Results of testing weren't yet available, but even if he doesn't require surgery, Havlat's expected to miss a significant amount of action. The injury is to the same shoulder that cost him 22 games earlier this season. Havlat has 10 goals and 27 points in 35 games thus far, but that may be all the games he gets in.

Martin Havlat, who scored the game winning goal on Sunday, and the Blackhawks only goal on Tuesday, has three goals and an assist in the past four games. Havlat, who has played in only 31 games this season, continues to be an injury risk for owners who brave him in their starting lineup.
February 17, 2008
Martin Havlat scored the game-winning goal on Sunday in Chicago's 2-1 victory over the Avalanche. In eight games on the month, Havlat has totaled two goals and five assists, but as always, he is about as risky a play as any top level talent considering his propensity to find his way to the doctors office.
February 14, 2008
Martin Havlat scored a goal and added an assist for the Blackhawks as did Robert Lang, Brent Seabrook and James Wisniewski on Wednesday night. Havlat now has six points in his last six games, though we all know it's probably just a matter of hours before he is injured doing something like getting out of the shower. Havlat has 78 points in 83 games since becoming a Blackhawk but his 123 trips to the IR continue to diminish his worth.

Of course, he probably would deny it even if he had shopped Havlat around. If he could find a quality offer out there, he may well pull the trigger and ditch his injury-prone forward.
January 7, 2008
Although it appeared that Martin Havlat was going to miss another week of action, he was able to hit the ice for Sunday's game against the Red Wings. He was held scoreless in his return from a groin injury, but any time he's in a game, it's a good thing. Let's see how long he can go before his body gives out again.
January 6, 2008
The Blackhawks had hoped that Martin Havlat would be able to return to action by Sunday, but that won't be the case. In fact, he could be a full week away from playing again, according to the Chicaco Sun-Times. Havlat's still dealing with his groin injury, and considering his long history of injury problems, it's no surprise it's taking longer to heal than had been hoped.
