Justin Williams was activated by Carolina on Thursday, according to the Associated Press. He had been recovering from a torn Achilles tendon which he sustained in mid-September.

Justin Williams will miss up to six months after he tore his Achilles tendon on Wednesday, according to the AP. Williams injured his Achilles in his right leg while running during an off-ice workout.

Justin Williams return to game action lasted all of 3:48 as he injured his back in his first game on ice after sitting out 43 games with a torn ACL, this according to the Charlotte Observer. At this point it is unknown when Williams will be back on ice, but given all the time he has missed he would appear to be a long shot to have a productive playoff run, that is if the Hurricanes make the playoffs.
