Dany Heatley was named the MVP of the IIHF World Hockey Championships despite the fact that Canada fell 5-4 to Russia in the finals, according to SLAM SPORTS. Heatley led all tournaments skaters in scoring with 20 points (12g, 8a).

Dany Heatley scored twice on Monday in the third period, but it wasn't enough as the Sens fell 7-5 to Montreal. Heatley is once again hot as a firecracker with eight goals in his last seven games, and is now just one goal from his third straight 40-goal season since he became a member of the Senators.

Dany Heatley picked up an assist on Wednesday night to extend his point streak to three games for the Senators. This modest streak comes on the heels of a stretch of three games without a point, and since February 12th points have been hard to come by for Heatley as he has just six points in 12 games, an amazingly low total given the fact that he has 69 points in 57 games on the year.

Dany Heatley scored a goal and added three assists in Saturday night in the Sens 6-1 dismantling of Montreal. In two games since returning from his separated shoulder, Heatley has three goals and four assists proving yet again that he should be mentioned amongst the elite NHL scorers (he has 28 goals and 35 assists in 45 games).

Dany Heatley is expected to return to the Senators' lineup against the Panthers on Thursday after spending four weeks on the injured list with a separated shoulder, according to TSN.CA. "I feel pretty good," Heatley said after skating Wednesday. "We'll see how it is when I wake up tomorrow. It's been feeling really good all along, so we'll see tomorrow."

Dany Heatley could be back on the ice for game action as soon as Saturday, according to the CP. "Heater's not ahead of schedule, but he's on the short end of what we thought, so hopefully he's going to be back," said coach John Paddock. He's been out with a separated shoulder, and as Paddock pointed out, this weekend would be on the early side of his 4-6 week recovery time. Stay tuned, but it sounds like the superstar is getting close to playing.
