Jonathan Cheechoo returned to action on Wednesday after sitting out seven games with a groin injury. The AP notes that he fired four shots on goal in less than 15 minutes of playing time.

Jonathan Cheechoo has resumed skating on his sore groin, according to the San Jose Mercury News. He underwent offseason surgery to repair hernias, so he doesn't want to push his return from this groin injury and risk a setback. He may not be back in the mix until the new year.

The Sharks placed Jonathan Cheechoo on the IR Tuesday with a groin injury, which will sideline him for at least one week. Cheechoo has just four goals in 28 games this year after undergoing double hernia surgery in the offseason.

Jonathan Cheechoo hasn't ruled himself out of Game 2 of the opening round of the playoffs, even though he knows it's a longshot that he'll play, according to the Mercury News. The Sharks are still waiting on the results of an MRI on Cheechoo's injured knee. "It's all up to (the MRI)," said Cheechoo. "Whatever that says, then we'll go from there. If it's not that bad, I'll play."
