Although the two sides are far apart in negotiations, Pavel Datsyuk and the Red Wings are aiming to iron out a contract, according to the Detroit News. "We are in the same boat with (general manager) Mr. Holland, because Mr. Holland wants to sign Pavel Datsyuk and Pavel Datsyuk wants to play for Detroit," agent Gary Greenstin said. "Both parties, we need each other."
