Hopefully those that own Vesa Toskala didn't have the goaltender in their lineup Thursday. The netminder allowed a whopping eight goals to Ottawa, stopping just 29 of 37 shots. Toskala has been pretty solid this year considering Toronto's deficiencies on defense, but every once in a while he'll put up a stinker like this.

Vesa Toskala was named the NHL's second star for the week ending March 23rd, this according to NHL.com. Toskala went 3-0 with a 2.00 GAA and .940 SV% on the week. Toskala has withstood an often porous defense this year to post 32 victories and three shutouts on the year, and he continues to be one of the most consistent mid-tier goalies in the fantasy game.

Vesa Toskala was excellent on Friday night as he stopped 35 of 36 shots thrown his way in the Leafs 4-1 victory over the Sabres. Toskala improved to 31-22-6 overall including 14-8-2 since the all-star break as he has finally solidified the Leafs fortunes in net.

Vesa Toskala stopped all 31 shots he faced on Monday night to earn his third shutout of the season in a 5-0 whitewashing of the Senators. Toskala hasn't lived up to the hype this season with a GAA over 2.60, but he really can't be faulted since the team has often played brutal defense in front of him. Still, he is 24-19-5 and more times than not he has given the Leafs a chance to win.

Vesa Toskala stopped 19 of 20 shots but it wasn't enough as the Leafs fell 1-0 to the Sabres on Wednesday night. Toskala's numbers have vacillated all season thanks to a rather porous defensive unit in front of him, but he has held down the fort the past three games allowing only five goals while going 2-1. Toskala is a much better goalie than his 2.62 GAA would suggest, but when you face 30 shots a night it's hard to keep that GAA down. His numbers will improve if the defense in front of him ever does.

Journeyman Scott Clemmensen, who got a win Tuesday, will probably go against the Penguins; the team hasn't been happy with Andrew Raycroft's play of late. Toskala's last appearance before the injury came on Dec. 22.
