The NHL slapped Tom Kostopoulos with a three-game suspension Monday for hitting Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Mike Van Ryn from behind during a game Saturday night, according to the AP. Van Ryn stayed was removed on a stretcher after suffering a concussion, broken nose and broken bone in his hand. He’s expected to be out at least a month.
