Rick Nash opted to not take part in the World Championships, because he wants to be as healthy as possible when next season begins, according to the Columbus Dispatch. He battled a high-ankle sprain and a sprained knee early last season and dealt with a wrist injury late in the season. "Everything’s coming around pretty nicely. That time off was huge," he said. "I would have loved to represent my country, but the doctors and [GM Doug MacLean] made the right decision when they advised me not to go."
