Rick Nash (sore throat) was back on the ice as expected Saturday. He played over 19 minutes and had an assist and one minor penalty.

Rick Nash is expected to return from his sore throat on Saturday. "I couldn't swallow my own spit," said Nash, according to the Columbus Dispatch. "It's hard to breathe, so you don't have a lot of energy. You can't do much. You can't drink or eat because it hurts." He's expected to undergo a surgical procedure during the offseason that will remove a lingering portion of a tonsil that had been removed a few years ago.

Rick Nash missed his second straight game Thursday due to a throat problem that is hampering his breathing, the AP reports. It's just one of several physical issues he's dealt with of late; he's recently complained of problems with his hamstring, groin, and back.

Rick Nash hasn't played well of late and blames it on being banged up, beginning with a hard check sustained on Dec. 5. "My hamstring was sore, my groin, my lower back really it was my whole left side," Nash told the Columbus Dispatch. "They were playable injuries, but It started when I got cross-checked against Colorado (on Dec. 5). It hurt my back, and it seemed like I was compensating everything to adjust to the injury. That's when everything else started hurting. It just sort of made its way down." He's not expected to miss any games, so keep him in your lineup and look for his breakout season to get back on track soon.
