Kari Lehtonen stopped 26 shots in Saturday's 5-0 win over Boston. He's been solid in 11 December starts, compiling a 7-4 record with a 2.49 goals-against average and a .918 save percentage.

Kari Lehtonen made 37 saves, then added two in the shootout, as Atlanta got past Montreal 3-2 on Saturday. He's now 5-2 since returning from the groin injury that cost him 16 games.

Kari Lehtonen was sharp in his return to action Saturday, making 33 saves in a 4-0 blanking of the Islanders. Lehtonen missed the previous six weeks with a groin injury.

Kari Lehtonen is scheduled to head to the AHL on Sunday. He's going there for a rehab assignment and should play two or three games, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. He's been testing his strained groin in practice for a week and might get back into game action in another week or so.

Kari Lehtonen took part in a practice on Sunday, his first in a month. "It was kind of up and down a lot. ... I was hoping it was going to be easier," Lehtonen said, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "I don't know how long it's going to take to get [the timing back]. That was the only problem." He reported no pain in his injured groin, but he'll have to get in some more practice before taking part in game. Expect him back between the pipes within the next couple of weeks.

The Thrashers wasted no time in placing Kari Lehtonen on injured reserve with the groin injury he suffered on Thursday. TSN.ca reports that the team made the move on Friday and subsequently called up Ondrej Pavelec to take his place on the roster.

Kari Lehtonen left Thursday's game after suffering a groin injury. Crummy timing for Lehtonen, as he stopped all nine shots he faced, and the Thrashers were en route to their first victory of the year. Johan Hedberg will get the work while Lehtonen is out.

Kari Lehtonen was pulled after allowing five goals on 20 shots at Buffalo Thursday. Johan Hedberg finished up, stopping seven of the eight shots he faced.

Kari Lehtonen won't quite be ready to play in Tuesday's game. Right now, the Thrashers plan to get him into action for his preseason debut on Wednesday, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. He's nursing a groin injury but is expected to be ready for the start of the season. Nonetheless, it's never a good sign when a goalie is bothered by a sore groin early on.

After being benched for one game in favor of Johan Hedberg, Kari Lehtonen returned to the Thrashers' net for Game 3 against the Rangers on Tuesday night. Lehtonen was blasted for seven goals on 35 shots as Atlanta lost 7-0 to New York.

Coach Bob Hartley will go back to Kari Lehtonen in goal for tonight's Game 3 of the series against the Rangers, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Lehtonen started Game 1 of the series but sat in favor of veteran Johan Hedberg in Game 2. "Kari has won plenty of big games for us, and has played well for us in Madison Square Garden," Hartley said. "I thought it was an easy decision."

Thrashers coach Bob Hartley has decided to replace Kari Lehtonen with Johan Hedberg in goal for tonight's game against the Rangers, according to the New York Daily News. Hartley is looking for a little veteran leadership from Hedberg, as the Game 1 loss for the Thrashers was Lehtonen's first postseason action.
