Ryan Whitney had a goal and two assists on Thursday night in the Penguins victory over the Habs. Whitney now has 12 goals on the year, just two less than last season, but he has just 20 assists a year after totaling 45. Even worse, Whitney's production with the man advantage has really suffered as he has only 17 PP points this year a year after totaling 33.

The Penguins agreed on a new deal with Ryan Whitney Sunday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Whitney registered 14 goals and 45 assists last year.

Ryan Whitney underwent surgery on his left wrist Thursday, according to the AP. He's going to require six to eight weeks of rehab, so he should be ready for training camp in the fall. Whitney had an outstanding season with 59 points and 77 PIM.
