Joffrey Lupul is hopeful a contract can be worked out with the Oilers soon, the Edmonton Sun reports. Lupul has not decided if he would report to training camp without a deal signed. "It's not something I've thought about," he said. "Hopefully it's not something I'm going to have to think about. I haven't spoken about that with my agent. We're pretty positive we can get it done and I think the Oilers are as well."

The Ducks traded Joffrey Lupul Monday along with top prospect Ladislav Smid, their first-round choice in 2007, a conditional first-round pick and their second-round pick in 2008 to the Oilers in exchange for Chris Pronger, according to TSN. Lupul tallied 28 goals and 53 points this past season in his second year.
