Detroit forward Tomas Kopecky underwent successful knee surgery today, repairing a torn ligament in his left knee, and will need six months to recover, accorind to the Associated Press.

Updating an earlier report, Detroit forward Tomas Kopecky is expected to miss 4-6 months following reconstructive knee surgery that will be performed in two weeks, according to CBSSports.com. Kopecky suffered a torn ligament Thursday night in a win over the Columbus Blue Jackets.
