The Sabres avoided arbitration and signed Paul Gaustad to a two-year contract worth more than $1.4 million, according to the Buffalo News. Gaustad had nine goals with 15 assists and 65 penalty minutes in 78 games for the Sabres last year.

Paul Gaustad missed practice Tuesday because of a possible concussion, according to the AP. Coach Lindy Ruff said Gaustad was still not feeling well and might have a slight concussion after being checked into the boards late in the third period on Saturday.
