The Detroit Free Press reports that Niklas Kronwall has been skating for a week, returning to the ice for the first time since he suffered a knee injury Sept. 27 in an exhibition game against Colorado. Kronwall, who underwent successful surgery to repair torn ligaments in his left knee Oct. 10, said "it's too early to say at this point" if he could return earlier than the four- to six-month timetable he originally was given.

Niklas Kronwall will be out at least six weeks with a left knee injury after he was checked along the boards in an exhibition game Tuesday night, according to the AP. "He has some ACL and MCL damage," general manager Ken Holland said Wednesday. "He's going to be examined Friday, and we'll know more about his status after we get some more opinions."
