The Toronto Star reports that coach Paul Maurice said Kyle Wellwood "has gone from day-to-day to a little more than that" with his groin/hip flexor injury. He attempted to skate Saturday but couldn't handle it.

Kyle Wellwood is expected to play tonight, despite missing practice yesterday with an undisclosed injury, according to the Toronto Star. Wellwood busted loose for four assists during Thursday's game and should be picked up in most leagues to see if he can keep it up.

Kyle Wellwood posted a career-high four assists Thursday night, according to the AP. He assisted on both of Darcy Tucker's power play goals. Last season Wellwood had just 34 assists in 81 games, but 19 of them came on the power play.
