Dan Ellis has agreed to terms on a two-year deal worth $3.5 million to remain in Nashville, according to the Sports Network. Ellis said, "I'm really excited to be able to come back with Nashville. It's where my wife and I really wanted to be all along. We enjoyed it last year and feel the team is moving in the right direction, too."

GM Dave Poile isn't optimistic the club can re-sign goalie Dan Ellis before he becomes a free agent on July 1, according to the Tennessean. Little progress has been made to work out a deal, and team GM Dave Poile said, "If it gets to July 1, I don't think it's realistic that Dan is coming back here. I don't think there is any better opportunity to be a No. 1 goalie than there is here. That's where he ended up with us. I've gone through all the possibilities where he could go and I don't see as good of opportunities."

Dan Ellis and his teammates might have fallen to the Wings in the first round, but that doesn't mean that the Wings weren't impressed with the goalie who posted a .938 save percentage, this according to the Tennessean. "There was no guy more fortunate in this series than Ellis," Wings coach Mike Babcock said. "Things seemed to be working really well for him, and I thought he was fantastic and he gave them an opportunity."
