Dan Ellis has agreed to terms on a two-year deal worth $3.5 million to remain in Nashville, according to the Sports Network. Ellis said, "I'm really excited to be able to come back with Nashville. It's where my wife and I really wanted to be all along. We enjoyed it last year and feel the team is moving in the right direction, too."

GM Dave Poile isn't optimistic the club can re-sign goalie Dan Ellis before he becomes a free agent on July 1, according to the Tennessean. Little progress has been made to work out a deal, and team GM Dave Poile said, "If it gets to July 1, I don't think it's realistic that Dan is coming back here. I don't think there is any better opportunity to be a No. 1 goalie than there is here. That's where he ended up with us. I've gone through all the possibilities where he could go and I don't see as good of opportunities."

Dan Ellis and his teammates might have fallen to the Wings in the first round, but that doesn't mean that the Wings weren't impressed with the goalie who posted a .938 save percentage, this according to the Tennessean. "There was no guy more fortunate in this series than Ellis," Wings coach Mike Babcock said. "Things seemed to be working really well for him, and I thought he was fantastic and he gave them an opportunity."

Dan Ellis was given Friday's practice off to recuperate for Game Two, according to the Tennessean. He should be good to go, and noted, "I thought today I'd just get some rest and conserve energy. At this point in the season, you kind of do what you need to do to feel your best."

Dan Ellis blocked 37 shots on Thursday night, but it wasn't enough as the Red Wings won Game 1 against Nashville. Ellis was 23-10 during the regular season and got the call for the Preds over Chris Mason.

Dan Ellis will start on goal for the Predators in Game 1 of their series against the Red Wings, this according to the Tennessean. "If you don't have great goaltending, nothing is really going to happen for you, no matter how good your team plays,'' captain Jason Arnott said. Ellis has clearly taken over the reigns as the teams top tender from Chris Mason, this after a 2.34 GAA and .924 SV% which led the league during the regular season.

Dan Ellis will make his 11th straight start in net for the Predators on Thursday, this according to the Tennessean. This is a huge game for Nashville in its push for the playoffs, and for Ellis personally as he allowed three goals on seven shots in his last outing. What made that last outing so surprising is that it came on the heels of being named the second star of the week in the NHL for the week ending Match 30th.

Dan Ellis was named the NHL's second star for the week ending March 30th, this according to NHL.com. Ellis went 2-0-1 on the week with an insane 0.33 GAA and equally amazing .991 SV% thanks to two shutouts. Ellis has basically wrestled the starting gig from Chris Mason this year and he has been simply spectacular for most of the season (.926 SV%). Ellis figures to have a shot to play out the string in Nashville.

Dan Ellis continues to shine for the Nashville Predators, saving 36 shots without allowing a single goal in tonight's 3-0 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets. With two exceptions on the month, Ellis has been stellar for the Panthers and the timing couldn't be better. The playoffs are just around the corner and hot goalie could be the key for Nashville's success.

Nashville goalie Dan Ellis stopped 40 shots in a 1-2 loss to the San Jose Sharks this evening. This was a fine performance for a goalie that appears to be on the rise. One of those goals had to be reviewed and was nearly revoked, but Ellis should be commended for an strong effort.

Dan Ellis bounced back nicely from a tough outing on Thursday as he stopped 29 of 30 shots in a close win over Calgary. He improved his record to 18-7.

Dan Ellis allowed three goals on just 11 shots in the first period before he was pulled from the game on Thursday night. Chris Mason ended up allowing three goals on 33 shots in relief as the Canucks generated 44 shots on the night. So much for Ellis and his solid play. Look for the Predators to turn back to Mason in their next game as Ellis fell to 17-7-2 on the year.

Dan Ellis will make his third straight start in goal for the Predators on Thursday night, this according to The Tennessean. Ellis has been playing better of late than Chris Mason, and as a result the team will go with its "backup" tonight. Ellis is an ultra impressive 17-6-2 on the year, and he has allowed just two goals in his last two starts.

Preds netminder Dan Ellis did his part in Nashville's bid for victory in Thursday's game against Tampa Bay. However, Brad Richards fired a slap shot from the top of the right faceoff circle allowing Vaclav Prospal to slap a rebound between the goaltender's pads for his 23rd goal of the season. The loss gives the Nashville backup a 12-6-1 record for the season.
