Evgeni Malkin avoided a major injury on Monday night as his face was just cut by the skate of Rangers forward Brandon Dubinsky, this according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. "I started to feel the blood going down my face, so I knew right away [there was a cut]," said interpreter George Birman. Luckily for Malkin, he only needed eight stiches to close the cut. He would need a huge week to catch Alex Ovechkin for the scoring lead, but Malkin has still be spectacular with 104 points on the year. Continue to start Malkin as he won't miss any game action.

Evgeni Malkin was working in top form once again in Pittsburgh’s 7-1 victory over the New Jersey Devils. Malkin scored two goals and added an assist, bringing him to 44 goals and 58 assists on the season. Malkin has been one of the top fantasy players this year and continues to shine even with Sidney Crosby sidelined with injury. Nights without multiple points are more shocking than games such at this in ’08.

In Malkin’s last three games, he’s garnered three goals and five assists. Today’s game brings him to 97 points on the year, an absolute treasure for fantasy owners coming towards the end of the season.

Evgeni Malkin scored his 39th goal of the season in Pittsburgh's 7-3 blowout of the Buffalo Sabres, bringing him to 93 total points on the season. With Sidney Crosby on the roster, it's easy to understand why the casual hockey fan might over look Malkin. Fantasy owners know better. Malkin has 12 games with 3 or more points this season, twice as many as any other player in the league.

Seriously ridiculous is how we would choose to describe Malkin's play of late. Malkin now leads the league with 82 points and he is currently working on a 10-game point streak during which time he has 24 points.

Malkin needs only eight points the rest of the way to surpass his 85 point total from his rookie season.

Evgeni Malkin continued his role on Wednesday night as he scored the Penguins lone goal in their 2-1 loss to the Bruins. Over his last 18 games Malkin has potted 17 goals and totaled 33 points. If not for Alexander Ovechkin's crazy strong performance Malkin would be "the" NHL story right now.

Evgeni Malkin was named the NHL's second star according to NHL.com. Malkin scored 12 points (3g, 9a) in four games to lead the Penguins to a 3-1 mark. With Sidney Crosby out of the lineup, Malkin has taken off scoring points at a feverish pace as he is now up to tied for second in league scoring with 73 points (31g, 42a).
