Jussi Jokinen scored a goal on the power-play on Thursday night in the Bolts' 4-3 loss to the Wings. Matt Pettinger and Mark Recchi also scored in the loss.

Jussi Jokinen scored two goals in the Lightings' 4-3 loss to the Devils. The goals were his third and fourth of the year.

The Tampa Tribune reports that Jussi Jokinen is playing extremely well thus far in camp and not only will he make the team, but he could earn a spot on the Lightning's top line. Though he played left wing with Tampa Bay last season, he has been slotted in at center for all three of the Lightning's preseason games, including Tuesday, and has arguably been the team's most consistent forward. "Jokinen has been great," Lightning coach Barry Melrose said. "He's been our best player for two games." Vice president of hockey operations Brian Lawton said, "He's played excellent. He and I have had a number of conversations, and he's just a first-class guy. He's read that he's been traded 99 times over the summer, and it hasn't happened, and that's not uncommon. He's here just like everybody else being evaluated by the coaching staff and management. We're very pleased with the way he has played; he's played excellent."

Jussi Jokinen is out to prove that he belongs in the Lightning lineup from day one even though he has a battle on his hands to find significant minutes this season, according to the Tampa Tribune.

With 17 forwards under contract, Lightning left winger Jussi Jokinen and right winger Michel Ouellet are on the trading block, according to the St. Petersburg Times.

Jussi Jokinen scored a goal and added an assist for the Bolts in their 3-2 loss to the Flyers on Thursday. This was the first tally in five games for Jussi since joining the Lightning. Overall he has 15 goals in 57 games on the year.

The Lightning acquired Jussi Jokinen as part of the Richards trade Tuesday. Jokinen has 28 points in 52 games with the Stars this year. He should get more ice time in Tampa but will also have less talent around him.

Jussi Jokinen is aiming to return to action later this month, around the All-Star break. "It's hard," he told the Dallas Morning News. "I felt like I was just getting my game together and the minutes were up and the points were coming. So I need to get back to that." Jokinen, who scored 11 goals in his first 38 games, is recovering from a sprained knee.
