Jimmy Howard stopped 30 of 31 shots on Sunday as the Red Wings lost their season worst sixth straight game 1-0. Howard was spectacular throughout and considering that Osgood has lost his last four starts we wouldn't be surprised at all to see Howard get the team's next start against Colorado on Monday.

The Red Wings are shaking things up, beginning with their goalie. Jimmy Howard will start on Sunday against the Stars, the Detroit Free Press reports. "We weren't keeping it out of our net. And so, Howie's done a good job. Now, starting is different than filling in. So, it'll be interesting to see how he does," coach Mike Babcock explains.

The Red Wings recalled Jimmy Howard from Grand Rapids of the AHL on Monday to serve as a third-string backup goalie behind Dominik Hasek, who remains day-to-day with a minor inflammation of his hip flexor, and All-Star Chris Osgood. Howard has played in 39 games for the Griffins this season and has a 17-19-2 record with a 2.61 goals-against average and .914 save percentage.
