Keith Ballard signed a two-year deal with the Coyotes Wednesday, according to the team's official site. Terms were not immediately disclosed. Ballard was a steady offensive contributor last year, posting five goals and 21 assists in 69 games.

Keith Ballard played one shift Sunday then left the ice and did not return because of the hip injury he suffered Saturday against Los Angeles, the Arizona Republic reports. Ballard said the injury shouldn't keep him from competing for the United States in the IIHF World Championship this month.
