The Sabres re-signed Teppo Numminen to a one-year deal on Monday, according to the AP. Financial terms were not disclosed. Numminen underwent surgery last week to correct an irregular heartbeat and has been cleared by doctors to resume playing.

Teppo Numminen had surgery to correct an irregular heartbeat this week, according to the AP. He had surgery at the Cleveland Clinic on Tuesday and is currently traveling to his native Finland after being cleared by doctors the following day, his agent, Don Baizley said Thursday. Baizley and Sabres general manager Darcy Regier also said they are in negotiations to re-sign Numminen, who is eligible to become an unrestricted free agent Saturday.
