The AP reports that Tomas Fleischmann scored twice and the Washington Capitals got their exhibition season off to a good start with a 4-1 win over the Carolina Hurricanes on Wednesday night. His first goal came on a rebound while his second was scored on the power play.

The Capitals re-signed Tomas Fleischmann to a two-year deal Wednesday for $1.45 million dollars according to NHL.com. Tomas has recorded six goals and 15 assists in 53 games this year and is more of a depth player than anything else as he is far from being worthy of inclusion on anyone's fantasy roster.

The Capitals recalled Tomas Fleischman Thursday from Hershey of the AHL, according to the AP. Fleischmann is tied for 10th in the AHL in scoring with 13 points (four goals, nine assists) in 10 games.
