Matt Lashoff was reassigned to the minor leagues on Thursday, this according to the Boston Herald. The return of Boston captain Zdeno Chara was the direct result of sending Lashoff down. In 14 games this season the defenseman had one goal and three total points.

Matt Lashoff has been promoted from Providence of the AHL and will be paired with Zdeno Chara tonight against the Canadiens, according to the Boston Globe. Lashoff, a 2005 first-round pick, will be making his NHL debut. The Bruins need some depth on the blue line with the injuries to Brad Stuart (broken right pinkie) and Andrew Alberts (separated right shoulder).
