Columbus Blue Jackets' beat writer Aaron Portzline is reporting on his Twitter page that the team has re-signed center Michael Blunden to a one-year, two-way contract for the upcoming season. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The Blue Jackets have acquired left wing Michael Blunden from the Blackhawks in exchange for right wing Adam Pineault, the AP reports. Blunden was sent to Syracuse of the AHL, and Pineault was assigned to Rockford.
