Responding to a cross-check James Wisniewski laid to the face of Red Wings' forward Mikael Samuelsson in Tuesday's game, the league suspended the Blackhawks' defenseman one game without pay. Wisniewski sat out Wednesday's contest against the Hurricanes.

James Wisniewski has been suspended for one game for cross-checking Detroits Mikael Samuelsson in the neck Monday, according to the AP. He sat out Wednesday's game but will be back on Friday. Wisniewski has been playable in deeper leagues this year.

James Wisniewski notched two assists in Sunday's win over the Avalanche. He now has five assists and one goal over the last four games. Wisniewski, who turns 24 in a few days, is having a career year thus far, and he may be someone worth taking a look at in fantasy leagues.

James Wisniewski continues to work his way back from a sprained knee. He's slated to begin skating on Monday, according to the Chicago Tribune. Clearly, he'll have to build up strength skating, then get in some practices before returning to game action. It could be late January by the time he plays again.
